Welcome to PhysioLabs! I'm Mo, the director, creator and manager of this website. I take care of everything, from coding to creating content, making sure it’s clear, reliable, and easy to understand. I personally research and update all the information to ensure it’s accurate and accessible. My goal is to make complex medical topics simple, so everyone can take charge of their health with confidence.
I studied at Sheffield Hallam University, where I achieved a First-Class degree in physiotherapy. My professional journey began as a rotational physiotherapist in the NHS, where I gained experience working in inpatient care, elderly care, and community settings. Now, I specialise in musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapy, working both in a hospital setting and a private clinic to provide personalised care for individuals seeking to improve their mobility and overall well-being.
The driving force behind PhysioLabs is my passion for addressing health inequalities that exist between different regions and countries. I believe that everyone deserves access to reliable health information and practical strategies to manage their conditions effectively. This mission has led me to create YouTube content to bridge the gap between medical diagnoses and patient understanding.
Through my YouTube channel, I aim to help people understand their conditions after being diagnosed by their GP or healthcare professional. My videos cover key topics like modifying activities, prescribing exercises, and the do’s and don’ts of managing musculoskeletal issues.
I also explore how personal traits, job demands, and beliefs can influence osteoarthritis (OA). For example, physically demanding jobs, prolonged sitting, stress, and misunderstandings about pain can affect OA progression and management. By highlighting these factors, my content provides a clearer, more practical approach to living with OA and making informed health decisions.
Early in my career, I met a young patient in her 20s who was worried about developing osteoarthritis. I realised I didn’t explain her condition well, which motivated me to learn more about osteoarthritis.
Over time, I met many patients who struggled to understand medical terms, felt isolated due to their personal circumstances, or had difficulty accessing healthcare. Some were even wrongly told to avoid exercise for conditions like angina or osteoarthritis, even though research suggests the opposite.
These experiences made me passionate about making medical information simple, accessible, and practical for everyone.
In addition to my clinical work and online education, I am currently developing a personal project focused on personalised orthotics using 3D printing. My hope is that this innovation will help reduce hip, knee, and foot pain caused by arthritis, ultimately improving mobility and quality of life for many individuals.
Looking ahead, my ultimate goal is to establish a biomechanics lab dedicated to optimising functional capabilities for individuals with arthritis. This future lab will feature advanced gait analysis technology and even a water treadmill to enhance rehabilitation and exercise accessibility.
If you find it hard to exercise at the gym, these online classes at home make it easier to keep up with your rehab from your own space.
I run online osteoarthritis (OA) classes twice a week on YouTube. Each class has 15 minutes of education, followed by 45 minutes of exercises. The classes cover different topics in a 12-session series to help you better understand your condtion.
Additionally, I provide senior exercise programs near to you online. These programs are tailored to meet the needs of older adults, whether you’re looking for gentle chair yoga or more active sessions, all physiotherapy exercise is accessible for free at home.
